Sarah Koff is a printmaker, gardener, and environmentalist exploring place through woodcut. Countless elements come together to form place. Sarah lives on the seacoast of New Hampshire, near rocky beaches, hemlock forests, marshes, and rivers. This is the place and these are the natural elements that inspire her to create.But trees and beaches are only part of what constitutes place. Place involves humans and how they interact with these natural surroundings. Sarah’s great concern over the many human-caused problems affecting her place is what drives the subject matter of her work.
